How to wash a Chikankari kurta?

1. Gentle hand wash: Chikankari garments should only be hand-washed using a mild detergent and cold water. Wringing and twisting can damage the embroidery, so simply agitate the water gently and rinse thoroughly.

2. Avoid drying in the sun: Do not wring the kurta after washing, instead, just let it air dry in the shade. Putting it in direct sunlight can lead to colour fading, making the fabric look dull. 

3. Avoid machine wash: While a washing machine is not recommended for Chikankari kurtas, make sure in case you do, you use a laundry mesh bag and wash on a delicate cycle. The mesh bag will help protect the Chikankari from tangling and snagging while also adding an extra layer to protect the delicate fabric.

How to iron a Chikankari kurta?
